Today we went to the tallest church tower in Holland (It's 112 meters) and climbed almost to the top. (this is going to sound a bit strange 'cause I got it of http://www.holland.com/utrechtstad/gb/index.html?page=http://www.holland.com/utrechtstad/gb/cityguide/highlights/dom.html)
This symbol of the city of Utrecht stands on the spot where the city originated 2000 years ago, now Dom Square. A hurricane which blew away half of the city in 1674, the Middle section collapsed and the tower was separated from the church. It has 465 steps to the top were we where. Here's some photo's.

Man it was high at the top.
(The layout here isn't very good)

Hey Steve,
Good something or other,
Yesterday we went back to the ABC (American Book Company) and actually bought the book I wanted, only it was a slightly cheaper and didn't have the nice leather cover and gold trimmed pages. But it has all 5 books which is what I was after. Oom piet's having his house painted while his on holidays coming to Holland on Thursday and then we're going camping in France for a week on Sunday, that should be fun, we have about 20 google earth place-marks which include were we are going in France, the local supermarket's, our favorite chip shop, aunty's houses and so on.
We're going somewhere so I have to finish.

PS:here is the film for the camping.

Hello
Yesterday we went to Amsterdam as I told you previously, though we didn't go to the American bookshop:-( instead we went to a museum of paintings, kinda boring, the annoying thing was, we had to walk all the way across Amsterdam to get there, then we went on a boat tour of the canals, and it was ok. Then we finally caught a tram to get back to the station.
I'm still quite tired from all that walking, but I'm normal on inbetween 3:00 and 4:00 your time.

Hey Steve (who appears to be on holiday's)
There's not going to be much today because not much happened, but we did go to church,
(and here's some links to it's website)
http://www.baptistengemeentekatwijk.nl/
http://www.baptistengemeentekatwijk.nl/practischezaken/preken/20060521jketelaarcompletedienst.mp3
And then we went to tante janny's house (Oh she of the hyper-spacial lolly cuboard) as usual, and then we went to a big park for timmy's birthday, even though it was on Monday, and we went with Tim's little friend luka, it was ok, but not very interesting, especially when it started raining, which basically pushed us out. Then they came back with us and had pancakes for dinner, we've managed to watch "Madagascar" about 17 times so we can basically recite the whole film (all the funny parts anyway).
Good whatever time it is there.

Hey Steve
This post will have to do for yesterday and today,
I hope you are not dead.
Yesterday we actually went camping, the first time we've been camping as a family,
Well we actually went to say happy birthday to dad's uncle who turned 73.
well, we got there and we checked in fine, we managed to find our site, but there was a nice enclosed and reasonably empty space next to us, so we went and asked for it and we managed to get it, that was great, except that the stuff that enclosed it was the Dutch equivalent of a stinging nettle! But we survived that and managed to get the tent up, (there will be a video) and it only took us 3 hours! The weather was fine while we set the tent up, with no sign of the forecasted "Showers", then we set up the mattress's and went and got pizza for dinner, we ordered a "four cheese" pizza, but unfortunately one of the four cheese's was "Smelly Blue Cheese" and trust me, it smelt! Then Beth and dad went to the beach, and came right back with reports of it being "Haunted", just about 15 seconds before they got back, it started raining! And it rained, and rained, and rained, it rained all night and into the morning, were luckily, it stopped, it had also been very windy so some of the peg's had come out, in fact, because we had both a water-proof floor and a tarp underneath, it turned itself into a sort of water-bed! But we managed to sort of pack it up (mostly into garbage bag's) so we could take it home to dry.
Oh well, that was our first, (hopefully our worst) camping trip in Europe.

Hey Steve,
Good afternoon,
Since I didn't do a post yesterday, I'm going to have to remember it today.
We went to a camping shop, (one were Timmy went and used one of the toilets in the caravan show) and bought the last mattress's and picked up oom piets old gas stove, then we went to den Hague (the political capital) and had a look in an American book shop recommended to us by a friend,It had heaps of cool books but they were all to expensive :-( in the end they let me get a copy of "Twenty Thousand leagues under the sea". Then, after dinner, me and Beth went for a bike ride because there was nothing else to do.

Hey Steve,
Did I ever tell you that most of Holland smells like flowers?
If I did,I'm telling you now, it doesn't.
It smells like ... COW MANURE!!!!
Really it does.
Now, Today we went to a total of 3 tent & camping shops, Not that this means much, because the only one we bought ANYTHING at was the last one, (And it was 1 hour's drive away) and there, we bought... (Drumroll please) 3 mattress's, a pump, a dust-pan and broom,3 sleeping bags, aaaannnndddd (REALLY BIG DRUMROLL PLEASE) 2 TENTS (Everybody yells and cheers),
Oh well.
Matt the frog.
PS:there may be a video of the tent coming soon.

Hey steve.
Hello,
This is sort of my first real post,
Nothing much happened today, well of course heaps of stuff happened but most of it was lying around doing nothing, we are going to get some extra tiles for oom piets garden, today we only had breakfast at around 10:30 so I don't think we'll be having lunch.
I FINALY GOT A PENCIL!!! my first proper (in other words, resonably exspensive) pencil.
So now I can keep working on a castle I'm drawing. I wonder if anyone but steve will look at this blog. I've decided that this will be my diary type thingio whatsit, so there should be a reasonable amount.I've also decided that I will let by kin have a look at this SOMETIMES unlike my E-mail.
I don't know excactly what we're doing tonight.
